The Lawson High School Apparel, Textiles & Fashion class had a history tour of Kansas City focusing on the Garment District. Students got to taste a variety of culinary delights while learning about the different areas of Kansas City. Students visited the River Market and sampled The City Market Coffeehouse and viewed the Missouri River from a lookout point. Then they traveled to Quality HIll overlooking the Missouri River, KC airport and West Bottoms before stopping at the Garment District statue and museum. The bus drove them by the Community Bookshelf, Government District and made another stop at the Crossroads District where they observed the local art work, ate lunch at Grinders and sampled a delectable bite of Christopher Elbow’s chocolate. On the return ride home, the bus made a final stop at Betty Rae’s Ice Cream shop; a favorite.
