On Saturday, Lawson Choir had a great day at the Northwest High School All-District Choir Clinic held at Platte County High School. They spent seven hours rehearsing a variety of challenging literature. During the morning hours, all juniors and seniors also had the opportunity to audition for All-State Choir. This process involves singing their assigned vocal part while a recording plays the three missing parts for a panel of judges. Only four students and two alternates are selected from each voice part to be a part of the All-State Choir.
For the first time since 2013, Lawson had the privilege of having not one, but two students join the ranks. Ava Briegel was selected as All-State Honorable Mention in the Soprano section and Cade Shafer was selected as an All-State Member in the Tenor section. Congratulations!
We are so proud of all our students who participated in the All-District Choir Clinic! #LawsonGoCards

Mr. Burton's Physiology class was able to combine some hands on learning with sweet treats hard at work today making candy models of neurons! #GoCards

This past Wednesday we had the pleasure of having eight FFA State Officers visit Lawson School District to talk about Agriculture and the FFA to our students. They held an all High School assembly then followed with workshops for our 8th-11th graders.
Wednesday evening we hosted 60+ community members who heard from five of the State Officers and Keith Dietzschold, the Agriculture Education Director from DESE.
We greatly enjoyed having our guests for the day and will continue to explore the possibility of expansion of Career Education at Lawson School District as a part of our District Strategic Plan.
