Lawson School District Welcomes Wade Proffitt as Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 School Year
Lawson, MO – Lawson Middle School is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Wade Proffitt as the new Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. With extensive experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, and student success, Mr. Proffitt is a dynamic addition to the Lawson Middle School team.
Mr. Proffitt holds an Educational Specialist degree in Superintendency from William Woods University, which he completed in August 2024. He also earned a Master’s in Administration (7-12) from William Woods University and a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education-Social Studies (9-12) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His strong academic foundation complements his practical experience in both classroom teaching and administrative leadership.
In his current role as an administrator in the Trenton R-IX School District, Mr. Proffitt has demonstrated exceptional leadership by:
· Guiding the development and implementation of building and district goals.
· Facilitating school-wide processes, procedures, and professional development initiatives.
· Collaborating with staff to enhance classroom instruction and management strategies.
Prior to his administrative roles, Mr. Proffitt served as a classroom teacher in multiple districts, where he redesigned and integrated curricula, fostered professional learning communities (PLCs), and contributed to the academic and personal growth of his students. His leadership extends beyond the classroom, having coached basketball, golf, and football, as well as serving as a student council sponsor to promote positive character and leadership skills among students.

Mr. Proffitt’s experience in both education and extracurricular activities aligns seamlessly with Lawson School District's mission, priorities, beliefs, and principles with a desire to empower students academically, socially, and emotionally. He will officially join the Lawson Middle School team in the summer of 2025 and is eager to contribute to the school’s tradition of excellence.
