On Saturday, October 26, thirteen Select Choir students traveled to Platte County HS to participate in the Northwest Missouri All-District Choir. They had a fantastic day of music-making under the direction of Dr. Adam Zrust from Northwest Missouri State University. The students auditioned in September through a very rigorous process. The juniors and seniors also had the opportunity to audition for the Missouri All-State Choir by singing Exultate Justi for a panel of judges. For the second year in a row, Lawson has a member in the All-State Choir. Aleah Johnson will be an alto in the 2025 Missouri All-State Choir. Aleah is the fifth student from Lawson to make the All-State Choir list since 2013. The All-State Choir will perform on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the conclusion of the 87th Missouri Music Educators Association Conference.
Those students in the 2024 Northwest Missouri All-District Choir were: Powell Bolinger (12), Aleah Johnson (11), Lola Bolinger (11), Destiny Dreesen (9), Grayden Crawford (9), Josilyn Sandoval (12), Haley Lewis (12), Cara Siebert (12), Jacklyn Thompson (12), Allison Hochwender (12), Madelyn Hazlett (10), Joanna Mayne (11), and Lindsay Jones (10).
