equipment

With the assistance of LHS Alumni Tanner Stark, Coach Crawford was instrumental in organizing a significant donation to the Lawson School District. The donation was made possible based on an agreement between Snap Fitness and the School District to provide a written tax receipt acknowledging the donation and the understanding that the district would be responsible for loading and hauling all the equipment. The mass amount of equipment we obtained for no cost was valued between $250,000 and $300,000 new.

The equipment is all in safe working order and of the highest quality, and Lawson's color scheme is even included. The opportunity was something we could have never dreamed of. Coach Crawford and ten trailers, drivers, and a bobcat with forks made their way to St. Joseph on the morning of August 3rd. After 3 hours of hard work, the assembles team had the gym cleared out and were headed back to Lawson. Without the help of several assistant coaches Daniel Nutter, Mitchell Morrow, Todd Dunn, Dan Dreesen, Nate Robison, Dustin Sullard, alumni Tara Crawford and Tanner Stark, and parents Travis Bennett and Rick Vosika, the day would not have been possible. Their selfless volunteerism on August 3rd was vital to Lawson receiving this unheard-of gift.

The gifted equipment has allowed us to move our weights program forward by decades. It has also allowed the district to begin planning a designated middle school weight training program and a room with safe machine-oriented equipment. Again, we thank Snap Fitness for their charitable donation and the Lawson volunteer group for making this possible. The donation has saved the School District tens of thousands of dollars in equipment upgrades, and doing so is truly a blessing.
