Lawson Invitational Concludes as Lady Cards earn 2nd place and Cardinals place 3rd
Hamilton Squads Take Home Both Titles
The 16th Annual Lawson Invitational Basketball Tournament concluded Saturday evening with both Hamilton squads earning respective titles. In the Girls' Championship game, the Lady Hornets won an exciting and highly competitive game over the host Lady Cardinals 60-58. In front of a packed gym, Lawson led after each of the first three quarters, but couldn't hold off the undefeated and #2 state ranked Hamilton contingent in the end.
Hamilton earned the Boys' title over the Richmond Spartans, 59-43. In the boys' third place game, the host Cardinals outbattled KCI rival West Platte, for a 52-47 overtime win and trophy.
