LHS INVITATIONAL JURIED ART SHOW: Art Club will host its seventh annual show on Friday, April 29, 2011. Surrounding schools are invited to enter and compete for ribbons & metals in 11 categories. Click here for more details, entry forms, and slide shows of previous winners. FIELD TRIP: The entire art department travels to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in March or April each year. For more information about this year’s trip, how to volunteer as an adult chaperone, and what the students do to prepare for the trip, click here: ART CLUB: We meet almost every Tuesday in the HS Art Room from 3:20 until at least 4:00. Some nights we work longer so we can get to a stopping point on our project. Click on ART CLUB to see what we’ve been doing and what we have planned. |
FEATURED PROJECT:
"A Room With a View" is the most challenging assignment that College Drawing students have to do. This student chose to draw the view from the sound booth of the Sellers Performing Art's Center. This drawing was on exhibit in March of 2010 at the Albrect-Kemper Museum of Art's Regional HS Art Exhibition. For a slide show of previous featured projects click the link below.
